Mandala Art Girl Drawings: Traditional, Dance, Bride and More

15 designs Mandala art Updated 9 Oct 2026

A mandala art girl drawing mixes a simple figure with the rings, petals and dots of a mandala. The girl is usually drawn from behind or in side silhouette, so the patterns in her hair, braid or dupatta become the real subject.

This style is a favourite for sketchbooks, gifts and art competitions because you do not need to draw a detailed face. If you can draw a smooth curve and repeat a shape, you can make one.

Below you will find original designs with the pen sizes, motifs and one tip for each. New to mandalas? Start with our easy mandala art ideas, and see mandala art supplies for pens and paper.

How to Draw a Mandala Art Girl Step by Step

  1. Pick your paper. Use 180 to 300 gsm paper so ink does not bleed. Black paper with a white gel pen also looks striking.
  2. Draw the silhouette. Sketch the girl from behind or in side view with a light pencil. Keep the face as a plain outline or turn it away.
  3. Choose the mandala spot. Pick one area for the main mandala: a bun, braid, dupatta, skirt or veil.
  4. Set the guides. Mark a centre dot, draw two or three faint guide circles with a compass, and divide them into 8, 12 or 16 parts.
  5. Build from the centre. Add rings of petals, scallops and dots, one ring at a time.
  6. Ink and erase. Outline with a 0.5 or 0.8 mm pen, fill details with 0.1 or 0.3 mm, and rub out the pencil guides only after a full ten minute wait.

Questions about these designs

How do I draw a mandala art girl without drawing the face?

Draw her from behind or in side silhouette. Show the hair, neck and shoulders as an outline, and turn the face away or leave it as a smooth line. All the detail goes into the mandala in the hair, dupatta or skirt.

Is there a mandala art girl easy version for beginners?

Yes. Draw a simple back view with a round bun and put one small mandala on the bun. Two or three rings of petals are enough. Our evil eye hair clip design above is a good first try.

What pens are best for traditional girl mandala art?

Use a set of black fineliners from 0.1 to 0.8 mm. The thick tip is for the silhouette and the thin tips for petals and dots. A white gel pen is useful for highlights.

How do I make bride creative mandala art girl drawings for a gift?

Choose canvas or thick paper, draw the bride from behind with a long veil, and turn the veil into one large mandala in red and gold. Seal acrylic and gold pen work with varnish before framing.

What does evil eye mandala art mean?

The blue evil eye shape is a popular good luck charm, and many people hang it at home or carry it for protection from bad luck. In mandala art it works as a strong centre, with rings of petals around it.

Can I draw couple mandala art for an anniversary?

Yes. Draw two figures from behind, sitting or standing close, and place a large mandala above or around them, such as a moon or sun. Keep the figures plain so the pattern carries the feeling.
