Fact-Checking Policy
Folk art traditions belong to real communities, so we try hard to describe them correctly.
How we check
- Origins, regions and materials are checked against museum, government handicraft and craft council information, and kept consistent across the site.
- We describe techniques in practical terms (tools, materials, drying times) and test hobby methods ourselves.
- When a tradition is traditionally devotional, we say so plainly and do not reinterpret its meaning.
